Description
HabiStat Tortoise Substrate is a natural, species-specific blend designed to recreate the dry, compacted soils found in Mediterranean and arid tortoise habitats.
This carefully balanced substrate compacts under pressure to provide a stable base layer, while remaining loose across the surface. This combination allows tortoises to move naturally, dig safely, and exhibit instinctive behaviours such as foraging and burrowing.
By mimicking natural terrain, it also supports effective thermoregulation, helping tortoises regulate their body temperature more naturally within the enclosure.
Ideal for species such as Hermann’s, Spur-Thighed (Greek), and Marginated tortoises, this substrate creates a realistic, functional, and enriching environment.

Directions for Use
Spread an even layer across the enclosure floor to your desired depth. Lightly compact the lower layers to create a stable base, leaving the top layer looser for natural movement.
Spot clean daily and replace fully every 6–12 months, or as required.
